How to treat minor firecracker related burns?
“The tip of a sparkler burns at a temperature of about 2,000
F, this is hot enough to cause melting of gold and third-degree burns.”
Following the safety tips we mentioned in our previous post will help you take precaution
while bursting fire crackers; however accidents can occur despite all your
care. Here are some things you can do if you get a minor burn from fire
cracker:
-
Immediately run the burn under cold water for
atleast 10 minutes. You can also place a cloth dipped in chilled water. Do not
put ice or butter on the affected area as it will cause more pain, than provide
relief.
-
While doing so remove any jewellery or clothing
from the affected area.
-
Once cooled, cover the burnt area with a clean
cloth of sterile gauge.
-
Aloe vera can be used later after the initial
treatment. Aloe vera
has soothing properties which reduces the chance of forming blisters.
-
If you don’t have aloe vera, you can also use
raw potato or coconut oil to soothe the burn.
